Kirby's Epic Yarn: You'll be in stitches by the time I... you know what, no, no yarn puns or jokes.

500th post, and its celebrated with a Kirby game. No one ever said I was good at planning these kinds of things...

There was a time when Kirby did take risks, a time when it felt like there were more spin-offs then there were core games. One of those was Kirby's first grand return to consoles in the form of... a moving arts and crafts project for the Wii where Kirby can't inhale enemies, copy powers or fly... In this day and age, that would receive a huge backlash and petitions to call for it to never be released because it's not a core game. Am I right Metroid Prime Federation Force? Chibi Robo Zip-Lash? Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Lets Go Eevee? Bumblebee The Movie? The sad thing is that I can keep going... Anyway, Kirby's Epic Yarn.

Kirby Star Allies: Let's do the Odyssey... wait, wrong game...

Kirby's had a bad habit with console appearances, hasn't he? It's quite hit and miss depending on if he's in the mood. We had Kirby 64 for the Nintendo 64, but no main series title for the Gamecube. We got both Epic Yarn and... ugh... Kirby's Adventure Wii... (yeah, the US got a better name for that one, being Return to Dreamland), but nothing for the WiiU. To be fair I wouldn't want a game on that system either if we're going purely by console sales. Now we come to the Switch, where we get a game in the system's second year on the market? I guess that goes to show the power of a system that sells more units in one year then its predecessor did in its lifetime. I'll always try to find time for Kirby, so let's see what his newest adventure has in store for him.

Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion: So that's what happened to that escaped Octoling...

When Marissa and I did that whole Human Reseach Lab joke from the Splatoon 2 review, I threw in the escaped Octoling thing as a joke cause I wasn't sure if we'd be able to bring it back for a Splatoon 3 review. I genuinely had no idea the expansion was happening, the review was only a few weeks after the game launched after all! But I'll take any chance at a joke I can get.

Alongside the tons of free updates the game has gotten, adding in new weapons, gear, stages and songs, it was surprising to see paid Splatoon 2 post-launch content to be considered at all, let alone an expansion based around something that Data Miners have been able to find in the games since Splatoon 1. However, here we are with the Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion, a roughly $30 addon for Splatoon 2 that adds playable Octolings, along with a bunch of Octo themed gear... oh and those roughly 80 extra levels. Shall we see how the expansion holds up?

So does this mean Splatoon 8 will come out in 2028 or 2088?
